DimoMaint MX to optimise stock management for Grupo Antoli

Tier 1 automotive equipment manufacturer, GRUPO ANTOLIN is one of the leading players in the international car interiors market. It is present in 5 of the world’s best-selling vehicles and equips over 85% of vehicles sold in Europe.

GRUPO ANTOLIN is a Spanish family business with factories and technical sales centres in 26 countries, employing 27,000 people worldwide who drive our success every day.

To meet its industrial challenges head on (particularly in a highly competitive market), the company has partly invested in management. This is based on full collaboration between the plant’s various departments.

We rely on a system of red tables (basically, the idea is to meet around a high red table) with the heads of production,  maintenance, methods and quality, explains Benoît Renaud.

Every day, these managers from each department take stock of OEE levels, scrapping and any day-to-day problems in order to determine quality and maintenance actions.

Everything is done standing up, in less than 30 minutes. In addition, an email with instructions from technicians at the end of the shift with all the work they have done is sent to the other parts of the plant.

CMMS as the cornerstone of maintenance organisation and spare parts management

Initially based on the former Axel tool from the publisher DIMO SoftwareGrupo Antolin decided to move to a new generation of software, and in 2019 adopted the DimoMaint MX tool.

The old solution did not take into account the management of spare parts which had to be entered into an Excel spreadsheet.

Nor was there any question of mobility. We had to systematically go to the central computer to enter each work order and the movements in Excel. So it was time to move on to a new generation of CMMS.

With DimoMaint, stock management is carried out directly within a single application, so that it is always up to date,” continues Benoît Renaud. You scan a QR code and the part comes out straight away.”

Minimum and maximum stock levels have been defined, and if a part is missing, an alert system informs the maintenance department. Every two days, in the CMMS, all the parts on alert appear, and it is possible to compare what has changed in relation to the reference table.

Another function, but one that Benoît Renaud did not wish to use, is the DimoMaint service, which sends an automatic email at midnight every day with information on all entries and issues.

If the technician needs a part, they access the table, enter the part description and fetch it.” Mobility also makes it possible to input work – “not all of it, just the most important jobs.”
